Govt allocates Rs 20,251 mln under PSDP 2024-25 for FEPT schemes


ISLAMABAD, Jun 12 (APP): The Federal Government has allocated Rs 20,251.000 million under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the ongoing and new schemes of the Federal Education and Professional Training (FEPT) for the fiscal year 2024-25.

According to the budgetary documents issued on Wednesday, a total of Rs 5936 million has been earmarked for ongoing schemes and Rs 14,315 million for the new schemes of the Education Ministry.

Among the ongoing schemes, Rs 250 million has been awarded for award of 1600 Scholarships to Students from Indian Occupied Kashmir under Prime Minister’s Directive (4th Revised), while Rs 100 million for setting up Islamabad Model College for Girls G/13-1, and Rs 90 million for establishment of Islamabad Model College for Boys, Margalla Town,
Islamabad. Similarly, Rs 485 million have been allocated for establishment of Federal Government College of Home Economics, Management Sciences & Specialized Disciplines, F-11/1, Islamabad (2nd Revised).

However, the government has also allocated a hefty amount of Rs 3200 million for Provision of Basic Educational (Missing) Facilities in Educational Institutions of ICT under FDE. It is to mention here that Rs 300 million has been allocated for enrolment, retention, and progression of Out of School Children in Islamabad Capital Territory.

Among the new schemes, Rs 1000 million has been allocated for Skills Development Programme (NAVTTC), while Rs 5000 million reserved for Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development. Similarly, Rs 4000 mln have been reserved for Pakistan Education Fund (M/o Federal Education).

Similarly, Rs 1500 mln is earmarked for establishment of Daanish school in ICT Kuri, while Rs 1500 million have also been allocated for establishment of six Daanish Schools In AJK and GB.

It is worth mentioning here that Rs 980 million have been reserved for disruptive education: Transforming schools into foundries of emerging tech.
