ISLAMABAD, Jun 24 (APP): Parliamentary leader of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQMP) in the upper house Senator Faisal Sabzwari on Monday advised the government to increase the limit of Taxable income of salaried class and the tax burden may be decreased.
Taking part in the budget debate, the senator said that all stakeholders are well aware with the difficulties of the country however the existing tax system cannot alone provide a solution to get out of the economic trap.
He said people will pay taxes voluntarily if the burden on them is decreased and in the meantime un-taxed areas may be found.
Farmer should be given blanket exemption, said the senator adding that indirect taxes are more ruthless and they a common Pakistani are paying tax more than his capacity through indirect taxes.
“We must think out of the box” said the senator suggesting that the provinces should be taken on board for the repayment of debt and none of the province should be allowed to return the lapsed budget to the government for the payment of IMF.
Senator Faisal Vawda taking part in the budget debate said that this budget will be approved by the house at all costs and latter the government will privatize the sick units.
He congratulated the finance minister for preparing a budget in a very short span of time and assured full support on behalf of the house on critical issues like privatization.
