ISLAMABAD, Jul 10 (APP): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Wednesday directed Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa to ensure swift water drainage in low-lying areas of the capital following the torrential rainfall.
The Interior Minister instructed the Chairman CDA to utilize all resources to drain water from the streets and to personally oversee the drainage work. He also asked the police to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
On the minister’s directives, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited various locations to review the drainage work. He directed the CDA, MCI and district administration officials to remain in the field until the drainage work is completed. He further said that CDA’s team was working diligently to drain water from the roads.
He informed that special teams of CDA, MCI and district administration have been deployed in sectoral and non-sectoral areas and all emergency response centers in Islamabad have been activated.
He apprised that instructions have been given to ensure swift water drainage at underpasses and other places.
According to the CDA administration, the citizens can contact Helpline numbers in case of any emergency situation.
