ISLAMABAD, Jul 12 (APP):Minister for States & Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Engr Amir Muqam on Friday emphasized Pakistan’s enduring friendship and cooperative spirit with Afghanistan, particularly in addressing the concerns of Afghan refugees.
The minister in a meeting with Afghanistan’s Charge d’Affaires Sardar Ahmed Khan Shakeeb called for strengthening bilateral ties.
Muqam said that Pakistan has extended the stay of Proof of Registration (POR) card holders for one year, recognizing the ongoing humanitarian situation.
“People of both brotherly countries have sacrificed a lot, and the restoration of peace is crucial for their well-being,” Muqam stated.
He urged Afghanistan to pursue long-term solutions for its citizens residing in Pakistan, focusing on their return and integration.
Charge d’Affaires Sardar Ahmed Khan Shakeeb expressed profound gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their hospitality towards Afghan refugees over the past four decades.
He appreciated the extension of the POR card validity, acknowledging it as a critical support for Afghan nationals in Pakistan.
