Political parties should work jointly for peace, economic stability: Amir Muqam

ISLAMABAD, Jul 22 (APP): Federal Minister for States and Frontier Region (SAFRON) and Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam on Monday said that all political parties should work together for maintaining peace and ensuring substantial economic stability in the country.
Addressing a news conference here, the minister said that nobody should play politics on the national issues such as peace and economic prosperity, adding that the country was heading towards economic stability due to efforts under dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhmmad Shehbaz Sharif.
He strongly condemned malicious campaign against the supreme institutions and tragic incidents of Germany and Bannu and urged that no one should be allowed to defame the country for their personal motives.
He said that a political party was continuing the campaign against state institutions which was highly regrettable. “I have always talked against terrorism valiantly and all the political parties should play their role in eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country,” Amir Muqam added.
He said that PTI was following the same agenda to destabilize the country which it implemented on May 9th by targeting the state institutions including torching Radio Pakistan’s building and disgracing the memorials of the martyrs.
The minister lauded the sacrifices of the armed forces in the war against terrorism and their services for the country. He further said that the armed forces had played a proactive role in earthquake disaster and flood havoc by providing relief to the masses.
He said that the government of Pakistan strongly condemned the incident of ransacking Pakistani Consulate in Germany. He said that those involved in this incident wanted confrontation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Turning to the situation in Bannu, the federal minister said every political party has the right to protest, however, peace and economy should not be politicized. He strongly condemned targeting the state institutions in Bannu. He demanded formation of Joint investigation Team to probe into Bannu incident.
He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was doing nefarious and reprehensible politics of chaos and anarchy for their personal gains. He urged the political parties to refrain playing politics on law and order situation, terrorism and economic development issues.
To a query, the minister said in fact that he had vigorously raised voice against terrorism and subversive activities in the country.
