CDA, Ethiopian Embassy collaborate on Margalla Hills plantation drive

ISLAMABAD, Aug 01 (APP): Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa Thursday met with Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan, Jemal Beker to discuss a joint initiative of participation in the Margalla Hills plantation drive.

The Embassy of Ethiopia in Pakistan will be allocated a section of the Margalla Hills where they will plant trees as part of the campaign.

During the meeting, Ambassador Beker briefed Chairman Randhawa on the successful “Green Corridor” project in Addis Ababa, which aims to create green spaces along natural rivers.

Inspired by this initiative, the CDA plans to study and implement similar projects around the natural rivers flowing through Islamabad.

Furthermore, the discussion explored the possibility of granting sister city status to Addis Ababa and Islamabad, fostering a stronger relationship between the two capitals.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards environmental conservation and cultural exchange between Pakistan and Ethiopia.
