Minister chairs meeting to resolve issues of trade bodies


ISLAMABAD, Jul 27 (APP): Under the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh chaired a meeting here Saturday to discuss and resolve the trade-related issues faced by trade bodies concerning Pakistan Customs, shipping agents, terminal operators and the Karachi Port Trust (KPT).

During the meeting, the federal minister emphasized the need to ease business operations and improve coordination among all stakeholders to address these issues, aiming to facilitate and reduce the time required for cargo clearance.

The meeting was attended by Syed Syedain Raza Zaidi, Chairman of KPT; Alia Shahid, DG Ports and Shipping, representatives of the Karachi Customs Agents Association led by Mehmood ul Hassan and Maqbool Malik, Chairman of the All Pakistan Custom Agent Association Asif Sakhi, Vice President of FPCCI Khurran Ijaz, Former Vice President of FPCCI Omer Shafique, Collector Customs Enforcement KPT and representatives from Terminal Operating Companies (KICT, KGTL, and SAPT), said a press release.
